Get ready! Grant writing season is almost here.
In fact, some grant deadlines are already upon us at the end of August – who would be so cruel as to make the end of August a deadline for grant applications? Summer is so short!
Here is a tip to get help you get ready:
Prepare a folder on your computer with all the documents you will need for grant writing such as:
- audited financial statements
- operating budget
- budget narrative
- biographies
- board lists
- staff lists
- staff resumes
- history of the organization
- info on partnerships
- accomplishments to date
- and whatever else your organization usually needs in order to submit grants.
Make sure that you have a working copy in the folder as well as a PDF.
When you’re “burning the midnight oil”, you’ll be glad you had all this prepared and ready to attach.
